Accepting Others. Let Go Of Anger.

Let go of Anger.
Acknowledge & Accept What Is; Including People - for what & who they are.Reminder:
Not one of us is perfect.
We all make mistakes.
We all are taking this journey called life and doing what we can with it.I am as guilty as those whom inspired me to write this. We all have our moments of weakness, emotion, and judgment. The only way to work through these ineffective reactions is to Acknowledge & Accept What Is.
...and remember, Acceptance is not an easy process a majority of the time. Like life, no one said it would be easy. But damnit man ;-) it IS worth the work to find True (and sometimes Radical) Acceptance.
Want to be happier? More at peace? Have more Self Love & Respect?
Then put in the work, and Acknowledge & Accept What Is!!! Let go of Judgment!!! Learn to appreciate everyone as they are ♡Until next time folks,
Live. Laugh. Love. ♡

It's been a hot minute... again

So as usual my life has been crazy busy! And as usual, not just because my life is, but because some of my decisions make it more so :-P it is what it is :-) ;-) Since I last wrote about my personal life things have changed; go figure lol I am still working on physical and emotional/mental health, and I am still progressing. Taking things day by day. Not judging myself for mistakes. Learning from any mistakes I do make (as much as I can... I do tend to make the same mistake 3 times before truly learning lol). And I have tried the dating game again... and actually tried one of the dating apps... it has been fun, interesting, and yet another learning experience haha On the other side of things, my professional life is improving as well. I have gotten my business licensed, got a new computer, have QuickBooks, am growing our client base, and have business bank accounts now. (You can follow progress in all areas of my life via my Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr Acounts, as well as on Fac…

12/4 Spanish Rice

I call it 12/4 as that's the day I made it, and as those who follow me know, I make a different version of all my recipes every time they are made lol Ok here we go!Rice
Ranchero Beans (from scratch or can; if canned, spend the money on organic)
Corn and Brussel SproutsChilli Powder, Cumin, Salsa, Sea Salt & PepperCook rice
Once rice is cooked add beans and stir
Next add veggies & seasonings
Heat through
Serve & EnjoyThis is good alone on a tortilla (chip) with some (shredded) cheese, salsa, sour cream, and/or guacamole. It also makes a great side, breakfast with eggs, and dinner with something like Carne Asada.Enjoy!
Simple. Healthy. Delish!!! :-)

Thankful For You and My Journey

Wholehearted living is a life long journey ♡
A dear friend reminded me last night that he has seen the chapters of my life/my journey of the last 15 years, and with this conversation I was reminded that without the roller coaster that has been my life I wouldn't be the women I am today; no matter whom loves me, accepts me, judges me. The me today is a much wiser & stronger me than the Sam that moved to Breckenridge over 16 years ago. And I am excited to see where this journey continues to take me; even with the dips and backwards steps I know will come along the way.
To all of you,
I have so much love for you all! I hope one day you will all find some self acceptance, love, and respect, and in turn a little more happiness & peace ♡♡♡
Love & Strength To You All!
I am so very thankful for each and every one of you ♡ xoxo
Until next time friends,
Live. Laugh. Love.

My Heart is Torn...

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Ok, Chicken Tortilla Soup; my way :-) ...or at least for today ;-) For stock you can make yours from scratch (chicken, carrots, onion, celery, garlic, basil, salt, pepper), or a mix of scratch and store bought broth, or just store bought broth (I use equal amounts of water). Today I used a mixture.
I had 1/2 a container of organic vegetable broth, and a full container of organic chicken broth.
I then used approximately 6 cups of water, and added the remains of our rotisserie chicken from dinner the other night.
From here: an onion, 1 tbsp minced garlic, couple of handfuls of baby carrots, and a (sliced) lime, and approximately 1 tbsp basil.
I brought this mixture to a boil, and then simmered until the meat fell off the bone.
Next I removed all the bones and the rinds from the lime.
Now comes the "Tortilla" part of the soup.
1 can of diced tomatoes
2 cans of black beans
1 can of mushrooms
1 bag of frozen cornSeasonings I add per taste... I can give you what I approximately…

Veterans Day

I always feel a little weird around the holidays that celebrate veterans and the like as 50% of me is German... as in we were on the enemy side during WWII. My Opa (his brothers, and my Oma's brother) were Veterans on the German side; Only 2 brothers came home from that war.
My Opa hated having to fight that war so much so he purposely disobeyed (Hitler's) orders, went AWOL, etc, and was supposed to be on "the chopping block" numerous times. Due to the need for people to serve the chopping block never happened, instead they continually demoted my Opa. By the end of his service he was working in the engine room on the bottom of the Tirpitz. The Tirpitz was a battleship that was hit and flipped over. My Opa was miraculously rescued from the now over turned battleship, but he almost died that day.
This is the Veteran I love & miss every day of my life. I was the only girl out of the grandkids; I was spoiled by my Opa, to say the least. Even when he didn't u…

Working through emotions

Over the years I have learned that to truly move through emotions you must acknowledge them and then accept them for what they are. With that said, this is what I am working through emotionally at the moment...Realizing someone I was in love with for years was not the person I thought... I was in love with the person he made me believe he was by fluffing the truth. As well the realization that being with him hurt me as much as the jerks he threatened to kill if they hurt me...  My heart hurts... this was supposed to be not only a lover, but one of my best friends... it is a grieving process... Our Colorado community has been dealing with a lot of loss/deaths in the last couple months... the one hitting home for me was losing our friend Shane to suicide. I may not have been as close to him as others, but he was always someone that had a hug & smile for me, and accepted me. It is hard working through the personal issues I have with suicide, and then also to loose someone so loved by …

PLEASE do not give up!!!

This post is in honor of an amazing individual that the world lost this past weekend. PLEASE do not give up!!!I do not want to preach about why one should keep fighting. Rather I will share my story...In my almost 35 years I have been through hell and back. To be completely honest, I can only say I am lucky (and thankful) to be alive. To try and make a novel into a short story, things started when I was a child.
Already introverted, shy, the kid who was picked on, etc, etc, my neighbors older brother decided teaching me how mommy's & daddy's make babies would be a good idea. This was the beginning of my downward spiral. Add hormones in at puberty and POOF you have the perfect storm.
I was diagnosed Bipolar 1 with suicidal, psychotic, and OCD tendancies by the time I was 15. I was also concurrently diagnosed with PTSD, Social & Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Anorexia/Bulimia.
(I have since dropped the suicidal & psychotic tendancies, as well as the eating disor…

Long Distance

some quotes for those whom chose long distance romances...“The scariest thing about distance is you don’t know if they’ll miss you or forget about you.”  —Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook"Contrary to what the cynics say, distance is not for the fearful; it's for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love." —Meghan Daum"And ever has it been known that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation." —Khalil Gibran"Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell." —Edna St. Vincent Millay"This is the sad bed of chosen chastity because you are miles and mountains away." —Erica Jong"I miss you even more than I could have believed; and I was prepared to miss you a good deal." —Vita Sackville-West"Waiting does not bother me, nor doe…

Gluten Free: Why do you care?

Ok folks. I am soooooooo over people bashing those of us whom are gluten free for health reasons (or just by choice). What's so hard to understand?
I am lactose & dairy protein intolerant, sensitive to red meat/heavy protein, and gluten/wheat/fodmap intolerant. (Notice the protein connection here???) I also have to limit fried foods, processed foods, refined sugars and the like as my body doesn't digest many foods the way an average person's G.I. system would.
Why do people whom don't understand my physical/health issues feel the need to bash me/give me a hard time/try to prove I can in fact eat gluten?
Yes, I CAN eat gluten.
Yes, I chose to eat gluten from time to time when I feel up to suffering the consequences.
YES I am gluten intolerant/sensitive, and yes it does cause me negative (health) effects when I do consume gluten on a regular basis/over indulge (sometimes only a little hurts me).
And yes I chose to eat gluten free. Why do you have a problem with me b…

My job... no career :-)

I am working towards making my home service business a LLC. With learning the basics of the general contracting trade the last 5 months I have realized I love it, and REALLY love tiling!!!
I thought I would share some pics of a couple of the jobs I have done. (I am waiting for a co-worker to send me over a few more to edit and share.)
Do you have a career?
Something you love to do?
Did you know there are studies that prove working a job you don't have a passion for is actually bad for you health?
I hope everyone can figure out their passion and go for it!!!
Until next time folks,
Live. Laugh. Love

Political Posts

The politic posts have begun :-P
Really quick;
Democrat is no better than Republican
Republican is no better than Democrat
And same goes for all other parties.
(I bet most of you can't even tell me how the parties have changed since their formation! 1 - 2 - 3 - GO!!! ;-) )Vote for the people that best represent what you feel is most effective for our country as a whole. What we vote in at the city, county, and state level does play a part in federal politics. Votes matter on all levels! (And remember, we are the American Society, not the America of 1 ; don't be selfish in your political, economic, and the like beliefs.)So get out and have your voice be heard! Educate Yourself and Vote!
But please, I repeat, PLEASE quit with the name calling, putting down party lines, etc. It gets you no where but looking like a jerk. It doesn't educate or change the way anyone thinks/feels. And last but not least PLEASE stop thinking you're insulting me (and others with views like min…

Flu Vaccines

My response to all the posts I have seen lately that are either pro or against vaccines,"(I don't read this stuff lol) reason I don't get vaccines for my son or myself?
I was raised by a nurse. A nurse who drilled it into my head that our bodies build immunities by being exposed to things. That bugs get stronger the more we vaccinate against them. That we are meant to fight off bugs/germs/the like and that if we don't, that's the order of things."
...but that's just me ;-)Until next time folks,
Live. Laugh. Love. Note: my son does get the vaccines required to go to school, but that is all. Also, we use Whole Food Nutrition (in combination with a very healthy diet), to help our bodies fill the gaps in our diet and health. We use Juice Plus to help boost our immune systems via Phytonutrients and Antioxidants.
