When love isn't enough

Addiction is a horrible disease. It is all consuming. It turns the good hearted into selfish, hurtful, untrustworthy, monsters we don't recognize. I am an addict. And I am dating & living with an addict. Currently I have my addictions under control. My boyfriend is not so lucky. And in turn, my son & I are not so lucky. How long do you allow the addict to negatively affect your life?
How long do you allow the addict to hurt you? As someone whose mental illness has negatively affected my loved ones lives my whole life, I feel I cannot walk away from this man. But as someone who has learned to love & respect herself, I know I should walk for my and my son's own mental health. How do you know when love isn't enough?
How do you walk away from someone who claims they love you ultimately? I am so torn... Until next time,
Live. Laugh. Love.

Juice Plus+ Kiddos ☆

Most of us give our kiddos vitamins and/or supplements due to the fact most kids are picky eaters, you can't afford to buy a lot of fruits & vegetables, and/or it was recommended.
Let's address the first topic I mentioned: Children's Vitamins One of the most popular lines of Children's Vitamins are the Flintstone Vitamins. They have been around a long time! My brother & I grew up on them haha Well over time the health industry has done research on vitamins & supplements, and with that R&D companies have been able to improve upon the "old faithfuls". One of those companies is Juice Plus+. Their Whole Food Nutrition line is a step above vitamins. Why you ask? Well just look at their Nutrition Label - you will not find Vitamin/Supplement Facts like you do on typical products. You find Nutrition Facts. Key word there, Nutrition. That is one of the biggest differences! The others? To start: NO Artificial Sweeteners (Aspartame, Sorbitol, Xylitol,…

Summit County AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk

I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide this fall to walk in AFSP's Summit County Walk Out of the Darkness Community Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 39,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.

I hope you will consider supporting my participation in this event. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.

Juice Plus+ VS Juicing

Docs and nutritionists will tell you that Juicing is safe, but you should do it in moderation.
When you juice you bring out the sugars, and loose the fiber. All that pulp not in your glass? The thick stuff? That's your fiber.
(☆☆☆ I am by no means saying do not juice. I love to make smoothies ;-) and I drink a glass of juice with my whole food nutrition trio capsules. All I am saying is, it should not be your main form of nutrition. Juice should not be "what you eat" (breakfast/noon/night). A healthy & slim/fit body takes work. It requires balance and a full spectrum of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals. Quick fixes are not permanent. We need to make healthy a habit and make lifelong changes to maintain a healthy body & mind. ☆☆☆This is why in my opinion (and many professionals opinion as well), Whole Food Nutrition from JP+ is the more effective, and healthier option when compared to Juicing…

Some Days Are Harder Than Others.

Right now I am struggling through. Even when I do everything I can to take care of my mental health, my mental illness is stronger some days.
Same goes for my physical health & conditions. Today it's my g.i. system and fibromyalgia flaring.
Between mental & physical, I am wiped!
I could drink energy drinks. I could take the next fad product that supposedly makes me feel better, but honestly, some days are harder than others. And rather than push through, some days you need to listen to your body.
Example: I just laid down for an hour. My body & mind needed it. I could have forced them to push through, but I know in the long run that would make things worse.
Listen. To. Your. Body.
Some days are harder than others. It's normal. It's ok. Don't judge it. You don't have to be Superman or Superwoman all day, every day. And for you to expect that of yourself, or for anyone else to, is unhealthy.
Make healthy a habit. Listen to your body. Take care of your w…

Be your Own Super Hero!

Saw the below pic on Facebook and of course have something to say about it lolI get a lot are religious, but pretty sure Jesus would want you to be your own Super Hero. My Jesus Super Hero analogy is: Jesus is to you like Alfred is to Batman :-)
That's just me though. And y'all know I'm not a religious folk ;-) with that,

Salmon: 1st take and 2nd take

We love Salmon!!! But haven't bought a lot recently as its getting harder to find wild caught - domestic salmon, and I won't buy wild fish from most other areas due to pollution. And also won't buy farmed due to mercury content (among other things). Well we were lucky and found some wild caught, domestic salmon and I made baked Salmon yesterday.Easy Peasey Recipe:
Salmon ;-)
Olive Oil
Himalayan Pink Salt
(Kirkland) Organic No Salt Seasoning
Lemon JuicePut all on minus the lemon juice.
(Be generous with No Salt Seasoning as this is main portion of your...)
Rub :-)
Drizzle with lemon juice
Wrap in foil
Bake at 325-350 (time varies depending on size of fish being baked - don't bake too long or it will dry out, ick lol)We made mashed potatoes and green beans with our Salmon.Today my boyfriend was working a double, and I had been going at it since 6 am this morning, so needless to say I had no interest in figuring out what to make for dinner.Open fridge... only l…

ItWorks VS Juice Plus

I do not like doing comparisons, but sometimes you have to put things into perspective - for you and/or for others.

ItWorks is everywhere these days!!! And I am stoked people are doing well with it!
Buuuut today I am comparing a few of the ItWorks products against Juice Plus+ Whole Food Nutrition (Trio) Capsules/Gummies, and (apologies) I really do not have to say much.

The post I am writing is not a comparison of ingredients - though Juice Plus+ does source all of their ingredients from US farmers & suppliers, uses all natural & Non-GMO produce, and the products are Vegan AND Gluten Free (minus the bars). (Please do compare the Ingredient Labels though. And more importantly the fact their label has Supplement Facts, while Juice Plus has Nutritional Facts = JP+ is Whole Food Nutrition NOT a supplement.)

This is a comparison of how many ItWorks products I would have to take to get the same results as I do from taking my Whole Food Nutrition Trio Capsules. And with this how muc…

Love Mornings ♡

I feel sad for people who hate mornings, or any other part of the day.
Each morning you get to see the world begin again. It is a new start. A chance for new things.
With each sunrise we can chose to revel in it, or we can chose to dislike something we can not change. But it truly is a choice. To have the line of thought that being or not being a morning person is set in the sands of time is... well, silly ...nothing can be set in the sands of time ;-) they are ever moving/changing :-) (sorry, had to lighten it up hehe)
The wonderful thing about being human is we have choice(s) and we have the ability to change - don't waste that power! Grow! It's a beautiful thing. And if you're not a morning person, chose to love mornings as much as your nights. Learn to appreciate the beauty of a sunrise, the calm & quiet of the early morning. Sit out on your porch and enjoy a cup of coffee, the sounds & sights of a new day, and take a deep breath - in through the nose. Out t…

"Mom Hacks"

Another school year is here.
Were/Are you ready?
I know I wasn't ;-P Thankfully we have the wonderful app, Pinterest to help us busy humans get through this thing called life a little easier/less stressed, craftier, more inspired, and the like. For this post I was using all the great idears on there that are meant to make a mother's life easier during the school year (and maybe for some, year round). The pics posted here are my versions of a couple of the "self help" ;-) tricks for mothers that I found on Pinterest (some recently found, others I have pinned on my boards in the past - follow me :-) just search my name, Samantha Luegger).  1) For lunches this week, (since my son isn't big on sandwiches) I made ham rolls and wrapped them in press n seal. I then put them into a ziploc bag, and into the fridge they went. I did the same type of thing with baby carrots.
As well, I made (press n seal) packs/bags of almonds, chips & (gluten free) crackers, dried frui…

Samantha = Listener

I took a silly quiz going around Facebook that supposedly tells you the meaning of your name. Samantha somehow means the same thing as Alicia (first pic) - got me laughing, and curious haha so I Googled the meaning of my name. Kinda cool. Not an old name. Not much information on the history of the name Samantha, but I enjoyed reading the results just the same. (Second pic)
Have you Google the meaning/history of your name? If so, what were the results?

Make Health Your Hobby

Let me know if you have any questions at all!
I get side tracked at times, but since I chose to make health a hobby 5 years ago, my life has changed so much for the better! Then adding Whole Food Nutrition over the last year - turned out to be another game changer for me.
Check out this video and let's talk :-) Laugh. Love.

Make life wonderful!

Life truly is what we, ourselves, make it. The things I am about to say are most likely tidbits you have heard before. Advice that made you huff, give a snarky look, and/or caused you disbelief.
What's crazy is, all that/of this advice holds true. There is a reason you hear it time & time again. So, not to sound like a broken record, but please take what I say here (and in previous posts giving life advice) to heart. Please learn from this advice. Please try to apply this advice to your daily life. I promise that if you do things will get better, even if only a tiny bit. Life isn't easy, but we can make the road less bumpy for ourselves :-) Alright folks, here we go ;-)
(Excuse the language.)Don't like something about your life? Do something about.
Have something shitty happen? Acknowledge all the hurt/negative emotions, Accept the shit out of it, and Move. The. Fuck. On.
Life is a mix of your choices and chance. You can't control others. You can't control th…
