Love Is...

I have started designing "Inspirational" Love Pictures. I will share them here, on my Instagram, and of course on the blogs Facebook page.
My relationship of the last 10 months has been... a roller coaster ride, to say the least. The picture I am designing are things I have to remind myself on a regular basis, and so by making them into creative outlets I hope to cope more effectively, and possibly in turn help someone out there... :-)

Here are the first two...

I feel like most can relate to this one :-)

This one most living in Ski Towns or Mountain States can relate ;-)

I use for a lot of my ingredient detective work. If you want to reference their site, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Some ingredients are rated safe only because there is Limited to No Data on the ingredient. What this means to us is that no one really knows how safe or toxic it really is.
When this happens I research what the ingredient really is. What was the ingredient derived from? What processing was used to make it? Is processing this ingredient safe for the environment and for the humans processing/manufacturing it? And so on.Some ingredients are listed safe, and technically are, but might be derived from animals. My issue with animal derived ingredients is we do not know how the animals were treated, if the ingredient was derived from animal remains so as to use up whole animal so no animal was killed for the ingredient, and the like. Some ingredients are listed safe, but are not all natural. For those looking for all natural products, this is a concern for yo…

A little food for thought this Friday... with current events, when I found this in my phone pic stash it really spoke to me.

Some of my fave Facebook Shares lately

Some of my favorite Facebook Posts from the last few weeks.

Easy, Delish Soup turned Spaghetti Sauce

I transformed a frozen jar of soup today into a meat sauce :-)Use the Easy, Delish Soup Recipe, with this twist:Brown 1 lb of beef with onion.
Add minced garlic, oregano, rosemary, Mediterranean pink sea salt, ground pepper, crushed red pepper, paprika towards end of browning meat. (Season to taste.)
Add soup and 1 can of tomato paste and a pinch of sugar.
Simmer until cooked through, or the flavors are full :-) Serve with your favorite noodles.
Enjoy! Until next time folks,

Pick up the broken pieces ♡

This little guy is a reminder that you can grow no matter what you have been through ♡ Started off a tiny little piece of broken off Croton plant. It broke off during my parents move from Parker to Summit Cove. Was maybe 1 inch tall, and now look at it :-) Until next time folks,
Keep on swimming. Or to make it relevant to plants, Keep Growing :-) ;-) ♡

Wrinkles (and itWorks! WOW Product Review)

I have a lot of (Facebook) friends that sell itWorks. In recent months a lot of them have raved about the WOW Product and the amazing results people have with it. What is WOW? Wipe Out Wrinkles. An Anti-Wrinkle Product… Anti-Aging… For those who can not accept they are growing older… Sadly another example of companies making money off our lack of self love… But that is not the point of this blog post. The point is the Ingredients and the Products Efficacy.

From the product page, “Results are not permanent.

*Results are not permanent. Individual results can and will vary. It Works! cosmetic products do not claim to cure/treat/prevent any skin & hair related disorders. All our products are purely cosmetic in nature & we encourage everyone to maintain a safe & natural cosmetic routine. If you are allergic to soy, wheat or other natural active ingredients, or are under treatment/medication for any skin or hair disorders, you must consult with your healthcare professional before …

When I discuss ingredients there are some that I define that can be harmful/toxic if made a certain way, or derived from sources that could be harmful or they may be derived from animals. They are not necessarily always harmful/toxic. (The reason I support Ava Anderson Non Toxic is that I know the ingredients they use - such as Cetyl Alcohol - are derived using plants, and their methods (or suppliers methods) are environmentally, human, and animal friendly.)This is why we need to know our ingredients. This is why we need companies to tell us if ingredients are plant based, and if they come to be via environmentally, human, and animal friendly processes. This is why we need "transparency" in business practices, procedures, suppliers, and the whole 9 yards. So as one more Ingredient Detective lesson: look for companies that provide all possible information about their ingredients and practices. If they leave something out, ask them. If they refuse to answer your questions avoi…

Do you know what to look for in Essential Oils?

Because I do not lol though I am trying to learn.

Here is what I have learned about Essential Oil Companies/Products so far:

* You want the company to know the source (and provide this information to the consumers) of the plants and/or oils being used - if oils, all the way back to the grower. (Country of Origin, Region, Location as all play part in therapeutic qualities of the oils, as well as if there could be contamination from pollution, etc.)
* Non GMO
* Horticulture Status : Organic, Certified Organic, Wild Crafted etc - makes a difference in (photo)toxicity
* Avoid oils that have been diluted with water or (vegetable) oils and the like
* Avoid companies that price all oils the same - this is one of the signs of synthetic ingredients and/or lesser quality ingredients
* The company should tell you methods of extraction
* Ingredients should be listed in Latin and English names so there is no confusion
* "Look for "pure essential oil" or "100% essential oi…

Happy Saturday to you! :-D  ;-)
Do you participate in the Month of Thankfulness that has become November on Social Media?
Or is this something you practice year round?
In our house we practice year round. It makes us much happier people.
I really love that (even though it took social media) people do the 30 Days of Thankfulness during November. Its an effective reminder. And hopefully some land up practicing year round. Hopefully some keep the practice going into the New Year.
Being thankful year round does take practice. You must be able to remain in or get yourself back to the present moment. You need to be mindful. And you need to be able to accept what is. So while thankfulness as a concept is simple, it is not always easy to remember to be thankful. Emotions can be ineffective little buggers ;-) but that's where Mindfulness and Acceptance comes in.Annnnd I am going to stop here as this is a topic we could a write a novel about haha Before I leave you there is one quick quest…

Product Review : Fairy Tales Rosemary Repel Shampoo

Just because a product claims to be All Natural/Safe/Non Toxic does not mean this the truth.
See the Green Circles on the Ingredient List in the pic below? These ingredients are either Non Essential, Harmful, Toxic, or Not Safe as we don't have any/enough data to know if it's harmful/toxic.
If the company had stuck to just the essential oils and all natural ingredients, this would be a truly Safe, Non Toxic Product. Sadly though this is one more company trying to take advantage of consumers lack of ingredient knowledge.

Product/Company Review: Younique

I have seen a lot of people selling Younique products online these days. They are promoted as Natural Beauty Products. Naturally this peaked my interest and I had to check out their ingredients ;-)
Younique openly admits they use Synthetic Ingredients. They claim to use only Safe Synthetic Ingredients, but as soon as I looked at their 3D Mascara Ingredient List I knew that was not all true.
Here we go folks ;-)
