Be Your Own Soul Mate

The last month

When I last owned my story with all of you I was committed to working on myself...
This has not changed, but much has transpired since I last shared. My commitment has faltered, but not completely. I'd like to believe the reason is more insurance issues needing ironing than my lack of effectiveness, but that would be naive. And I would be lying to myself, and you.One big thing that happened this past month was (receiving) a call informing me that my boyfriend had been missing (for 7 hours) after leaving one city for a county not even two hours away. With no word after 8 hours we were contacting anyone we could think of... noon the next day he contacted me.
Fast forward; he has (or I should say, we have) gone through detox again, he is now back home to work on himself and to be with family, is still sober (3 weeks now), and he is no longer my ex. As for me and my health; I have been trying to get my mental health services set up through Kaiser Permanente as I recently re-signed wi…

New Leaf

The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.~ Arnold Bennett Picture : Sunrise, Summit Cove, Summit County, Colorado  Taken by myself (Samantha Luegger)

Pure Haven Essentials Moisturizing Mask Label Correction

Moisturizing Mask label correction:
We wanted to inform you that there are errors on the ingredient label of the Pure Haven Essentials Moisturizing Mask. The correct ingredients are: kaolin clay, bentonite clay, aveena sativa (organic oat) kernel flour, ubiquinone (COQ10), aloe barbadensis leaf extract (organic).Water was inadvertently added as the first ingredient and bentonite clay was left off of the current label. In addition, on the new label, the terminology for aloe has been corrected as has the weight. The correct net weight is .75 oz.

For your information, bentonite clay is composed of aged volcanic ash and is used in combination with kaolin clay to detoxify and cleanse the skin.

Please note: We are going above & beyond for our customers! Anyone who purchased and already received a Pure Haven Essentials Moisturizing Mask will be receiving a new correctly-labeled Mask, along with an additional corrected label to affix to their current Mask

Happy St Patrick's Day

"Nurturers are quiet people who believe in order and diligently look after the people they care about. They focus on the needs of others and establish routines to help them meet their commitments." ~ BBCAre you a nurturer?
I am. The problem with being a nurturer is figuring out boundaries so you don't land up in (unhealthy) codependent relationships - whether romantic, family, or friendship. (You don't want to land up like me haha)Things to ask yourself, and be brutally honest with yourself :
Do I love myself?
Am I taking care of myself (first)?
Why am I caring for this/these person/people? If you answered No to the first question back away and learn Self Love. It takes Self Acceptance, and is a life long journey, but one can honestly tell if they truly have Self Love or not. Self Love is needed for healthy relationships. If you answered No to the second question back away and start caring for yourself before others. Self Care is very important. If we are not mentall…

Image Inspiration

We all have those Internet images that inspire us, motivate us, anger us, make us think and the like. Here are a few of my favorites; my gallery is getting kind of full so I need to do some deleting. Want to share these before that. Until next time,
Live. Laugh. Love.

I Am Me, no apologies

There are a lot of images going around the Internet like this and for me (almost) all of them hit home. All of them remind me of myself. All of them are things I want to say to the world also. Self Acceptance, Love and Respect are a daily process, but I am me. I change because I grow, but you can not change me to your mold, and over the years I have learned to not try to change myself to fit the mold.  Always remember that not one of us are perfect. Revel in your gifts AND imperfections; They are both integral parts of ourselves. Don't listen to the people who judge you for your imperfections. (I know, easier said than done.) Rather accept those people for the unhappy, judgmental beings they are and don't allow their words to hurt/upset/anger you. Allow yourself to move past those emotions and feelings. Allow yourself some peace and happiness. ♡ Until next time,  Live. Laugh. Love.

Commitment to Self

My only commitment right now is to myself; to bettering myself. And as always, I will be honest and admit that some days I am more (or less) effective than others. This past week has been a very good example of this; While I have made steps to be healthier, I also have done things to inhibit my growth. For those of us with mental illness and addiction this is just part of the journey. What I am trying not to do is viciously judge myself for the mistakes I have made. Rather I am trying to acknowledge them for what they are, accept them for what they are; try to learn from them/the process; move on and try not repeat the ineffective choices. That's all we can do - try to do better when we know better. We can't change the past. But we can better our future (self). Some things that are helping me right now: focusing on the beauty around me, people that love me, and the knowledge that I can make myself happier & more stable.Something that is still holding me back: the nagging vo…
